Marco Tedesco

Dr. Marco Tedesco is a Lamont Research Professor at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of Columbia University, where he directs research on the dynamics of cryospheric systems, climate change, and climate justice. He is also an Adjunct Scientist at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) and serves as Resident Scientist at Columbia Business School. Dr. Tedesco holds a PhD in Earth Sciences and has led more than 10 expeditions to Greenland and Antarctica. His expertise spans ice sheet dynamics, climate monitoring systems, and the intersection of climate science with economic and social implications. He is the author of The Hidden Life of Ice (translated into 7 languages and recognized by Washington Post and National Geographic Traveler as one of the best 10 books of the year) and editor of Remote Sensing of the Cryosphere (Wiley, 2015). He is a Fellow of the Explorers Club and a member of the NYC Panel on Climate Change, Equity Working Group.
