Climate Home News subscriptions: Terms and conditions of use

These are the terms and conditions for Climate Home News’ Essential and Premium subscription packages that provide limited and full access respectively to all of our coverage and content.

For the purposes of these terms and conditions, use of “Us”, “our” and “we” refers to Climate Home News, whilst “you”, “they” and “user” refers to the individual accessing our coverage and content.

  1. The law that governs our services

The terms and conditions set out below, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

  1. Free users

All visitors to the Climate Home News website, at www.climatehomenews.com , are entitled to three free article per 365 days as well as all Sponsored content. After a visitor has accessed their third free article (excluding Sponsored content) within any 365 day period, they are then required to register for an Essential account or subscribe for Premium access.

  1. Registration and the Essential account

Registering with an Essential account on the Climate Home News website, at www.climatehomenews.com , provides a user with limited access to our coverage and content. As of September 1, 2025, this limited access consists of: 

  • Receive the Climate Weekly newsletter each week
  • Receive Bulletin newsletters from international summits (i.e. COP, Bonn, INC, etc)
  • Access to all Sponsored content
  • Access to all Comment pieces
  • Access to a selection of our investigations, as chosen by Climate Home News
  • Access to a selection of our Clean Energy Frontier series, as chosen by Climate Home News
  • Access to two news stories each week, as chosen by Climate Home News, which are available to read for seven days
  • Invites to online events

Climate Home News reserves the right to change the elements of what is considered an Essential account and may add or remove products in the future at its own discretion. Essential users will be notified in writing of these changes and given the opportunity to continue, cancel, or upgrade their account.

By registering on the Climate Home News website, a user agrees to receive emails with news, updates, invites, and offers. A user can unsubscribe from receiving these emails at any time and will continue to have access to content on our site.

By registering on the Climate Home News website, a user agrees that:

  • Their account and password are personal to them and may not be used by anyone else
  • They will not do anything which would assist anyone who is not a registered user to gain access to any content they are not entitled to view
  • They will not attempt to pass themselves off as another user

If Climate Home News has reason to believe that any of these terms are being broken, Climate Home News reserves the right to cancel and/or block the suspected account.

  1. Subscription and the Premium account

Subscribing with a Premium account on the Climate Home News website at www.climatehomenews.com , can be via quarterly or annual payments. Regardless of this, all Premium accounts provide a user with unlimited access to our coverage and content. As of September 1, 2025, this access consists of: 

  • Receive the Climate Weekly newsletter each week
  • Receive Bulletin newsletters from international summits (i.e. COP, Bonn, INC, etc)
  • Unlimited access to all Sponsored content
  • Unlimited access to all Comment pieces
  • Unlimited access to all investigations
  • Unlimited access to all Clean Energy Frontier series
  • Unlimited access to all news stories, analysis and coverage
  • Ad-free experience of our website
  • Invites to online events

Climate Home News reserves the right to change the elements of what is considered an Premium account and may add or remove products in the future at its own discretion. Premium users will be notified in writing of these changes and given the opportunity to continue, cancel, or upgrade their account.

As of September 1, 2025 the prices for quarterly and annual subscriptions are £40 GBP per quarter and £130 GBP per year. Climate Home News reserves the right to increase the prices of these subscriptions in the future. Premium users will be notified in writing a minimum of 30 days ahead of any proposed changes and given the opportunity to continue, cancel, or change their account.

Premium subscriptions for individuals are paid in advance by credit card or debit card through the online payment portal. Subscriptions and the resulting access to content are not provided until payments have been confirmed.

  1. Corporate subscriptions

Corporate subscriptions are offered to teams from individual organisations and businesses. They consist of a chosen number of individual Premium accounts as decided between the organisation and Climate Home News with the price dependent on the number of accounts needed. All Corporate subscriptions are paid for annually either online via a credit/debit card payment or arranged offline through an invoice.

When paying offline via invoice, unlimited access to Climate Home News will be given immediately and payment of the invoice will be expected within 14 days. Climate Home News reserves the right to pause access if payment is not received within that time.

Climate Home News reserves the right to increase the prices of these subscriptions in the future. Premium users will be notified in writing a minimum of 30 days ahead of any proposed changes and given the opportunity to continue, cancel, or change their account.

By subscribing on the Climate Home News website, each individual user within the Corporate account agrees to receive emails with news, updates, invites, and offers. Each individual user can unsubscribe from receiving these emails at any time and will continue to have access to content on our site.

The individual users comprising each Corporate account can be changed either by the main account admin or by contacting Climate Home News.

By subscribing with a Corporate account on the Climate Home News website, each individual user that comprises that Corporate account agrees that:

  • Their account and password are personal to them and may not be used by anyone else
  • They will not do anything which would assist anyone who is not a registered user to gain access to any content they are not entitled to view
  • They will not attempt to pass themselves off as another user

If Climate Home News has reason to believe that any of these terms are being broken, Climate Home News reserves the right to cancel and/or block the suspected account.

  1. Discounted subscriptions

Organisations and individuals based in the Global South are entitled to discounted Premium subscriptions. The discount is calculated based on the World Bank’s classification of a country’s income – Upper-Middle Income, Lower-Middle Income, Low Income. The maximum discount offered are to those based in Low Income countries.

Climate Home News reserves the right to offer discounted subscriptions on Premium access at its own discretion.

All discounted rates are set by Climate Home News and renew automatically.

Discounted Premium users will be notified in writing a minimum of 30 days ahead of any proposed changes and given the opportunity to continue, cancel, or change their account.

Discounts are not to be abused and codes should not be shared with other users. If Climate Home News suspects accounts are taking advantage of discounts where they should not be, we reserve the right to pause or cancel accounts as needed to determine whether discounts are being misused. If accounts are cancelled, users are not entitled to a refund on the price they have paid.

  1. Subscription renewals

All payments for Premium accounts, be they quarterly or annual subscriptions, individual or Corporate, renew automatically at the end of their term. If a payment cannot be confirmed for any reason, Premium access will be denied and the user will be given Essential access until a time where payment can be made.

Users are free to cancel their subscriptions at any time. Refunds will not be offered on any time that remains on a cancelled subscription. Users will continue to benefit from their cancelled Premium accounts until the period they have paid for expires.

  1. Pausing subscriptions

All Premium users are free to pause their subscription at any time. Premium subscriptions can be paused by the user on the “Subscriptions” page of their account once they have logged in. No further payments will be taken until the user resumes their Premium subscription. The user will continue to benefit from the access already paid for and upon completion of the term they have paid for their account will be moved to Essential.

  1. Cancellations

All Premium users are free to cancel their subscription or registration at any time. Premium subscriptions can be cancelled by the user on the “Subscriptions” page of their account once they have logged in. Alternatively, users can email members [at] climatehomenews.com and we can cancel their subscription for them. The user will continue to benefit from the access already paid for and upon completion of the term they have paid for their account will be moved to Essential.

  1. Account deletion

Users can have their accounts permanently deleted by getting in touch with us at members [at] climatehomenews.com and requesting it via email.

  1. Changes to these terms and conditions

Climate Home News may change these terms and conditions. This is done at our sole discretion and we reserve the right to do so without users consent. Any revised terms and conditions will be applicable at the time they go public on the Climate Home News site. 

  1. Acceptance of terms

If a user no longer accepts these terms and conditions, or any future modification to these terms and conditions, the user must cease accessing Climate Home News coverage and content either on our website or via email (via blocking or unsubscribing). Continued use of the Climate Home News website and receipt of our emails indicates a continued acceptance of these terms and conditions.
